This fine man has been at Cheetah Plains for one year, and having just celebrated his anniversary with us, he holds his position as Butler in high regard.
Simon loves to get to know our guests; he takes great pleasure in listening to people and thrives on being able to deliver the level of service one expects from Cheetah Plains. His ten years of service in the hospitality sector put him in good stead.
But not only does Simon listen well, he is also able to speak 12 of the 13 official languages in South Africa—a feat all on its own. He also has a special gift: he is able to do sign language, a skill that has served him well in helping to educate and communicate with children in his community who would otherwise not be able to learn and share. He has a heart of gold and genuinely cares for the wellbeing of the people around him.
Simon holds a precious place on the team, is always willing to help and lend a hand, and has a positive and happy demeanour about him. Definitely apt for his role in serving drinks and appealing to guest requests…
He says: “I thrive on the energy of working with reliable colleagues at the lodge, and it feeds my soul to be able to do what I love in the beauty of what we offer to travellers from around the world”.
