Civilized has recently joined the Cheetah Plains Guiding team this year.

For 12 years Civ has been an active guide in South Africa. An expert storyteller, he won the FGASA Safari Guide of the year award in 2021 for his story about the Hippopotamus and the Scrub Hare. A tale of why the hippo lives in the water and only comes out at night…

We are delighted to have Civ on our team to share his knowledge, passion and expertise in wildlife with our guests.

His favourite animal is the elephant because of their great memories and good family social behaviour and he enjoys spending time bird watching, which he is interested in specialising in.
